The storyboard and how-to-draw EXTRAS are strictly for animation nerds, but do listen to the commentary, or you might miss Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane’s very special voice cameo. To fight him, galactic delivery boy Fry (West again) joins a cult of foil-hatted tree huggers, while shipmate Leela (Katey Sagal) dons pink camo with an ”eco-feminist collective.” Silly, but we do get resolution to Fry and Leela’s near-romance and the identity of mysterious Number 9 Man. Wong (Billy West) as he rebuilds Mars Vegas, gleefully crushing whatever species get in his way. That’s iffy, though, because as with the last three Futurama flicks, Wild Green Yonder is for fans who’ll pore over insidery nuggets, not for newbies expecting a tidy plot. This is it, the last Futurama cartoon ever - unless the DVDs of Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder sell like Slurm and Fox resurrects the Matt Groening space case (à la Family Guy).
